Molecular Fluorescence Velocimetry for Evaporating Thin Film

Motivation

It is believed that the most heat and mass transfer occurs in the transition region of heated meniscus of a capillary pore.
The characteristics of fluid inside or near the transition region will critically help to understand the evaporation and heat transfer physics. Experimental study of the flow measurement has not been well established mainly because of the intrinsic difficulties associated with the micro-scale dimension.

Experimental investigations have been made to develop Molecular Fluorescence Velocimetry (MFV) for measuring the flow characteristics of Meso- to Micro-Scale thin film region.
